WPC participates in a wide range of water conservation efforts including watershed conservation plans, watershed restoration projects, bathymetry initiatives, water trail mapping, algae studies and many others.

Canoe Access Fund

WPC's Canoe Access Development Fund will contribute $4,000 per site for the construction and enhancement of waterway access sites in Western Pennsylvania. Examples include:

  • Parking area(s) for a few vehicles
  • Creating stabilized access areas and paths to the waterway
  • Purchase of conservation land easement and/or riverside access (where appropriate)
  • Paying for a portion of a larger land tract for access (where appropriate)
  • Upgrading an existing access location

Applications must be postmarked by April 7. If your site is selected, you will be contacted by WPC to begin the design and construction planning of the project.
